G20 Human Rights Actions and Burma
By writing to the Prime Minister of Canada (current Chair of G8 & G20), we can work together to put pressure on the world leader to take coordinated action on unfair electoral laws and sham elections. May 5, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights Situation in Myanmar, mentioned in his statement that “The Government of Myanmar has not yet responded to pleas from inside and outside the country for conditions that allow credible elections”. May 10, US Assistant Secretary of State said that "The upcoming elections will carry no international legitimacy". It is time that Canada to lead the action at the summits.
